The China General Machine Components Industry Association and the China Fastener Industry Association(CFIA) have been actively supporting, guiding, and assisting fastener exhibitions in various parts of China (Shanghai, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jiaxing, Suzhou, Yongnian, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc.) to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the domestic fastener industry. In 2017, there were some fundamental changes in the domestic fastener exhibition situation. With the approval of higher authorities and the collaborative organization of all parties, the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Hall was selected to launch the construction of the "Shanghai International Fastener Industry Expo", which covers the entire industry chain and industry scale. The Fastener Branch of the China Machinery General Parts Industry Association actively coordinated with exhibition companies to host fastener exhibitions. In November of the same year, a press conference was held in Shanghai, where the China Machinery General Parts Industry Association, the Fastener Branch of the China Machinery General Parts Industry Association, Shanghai Ailuo Exhibition Co., Ltd., and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., joined forces to announce the organization of the Shanghai International Fastener Industry Expo starting from 2018, aiming to create the largest and most influential industry event in China and even Asia, and to promote the development and cooperation of the fastener industry and economic and trade exchanges between industries.

The first Shanghai International Fastener Industry Expo, led by the association, was grandly opened at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in October 2018. At the same time, the Asia Five Regional Fastener Association Exchange Conference was held; Roundtable of representatives from fastener associations in Asia, Europe, and the Americas; Screw World "Hand in Hand" Cross border Procurement Matchmaking Conference; The National Fastener Technology Exchange Forum and other themed activities, as well as the 2018 Shanghai International Fastener Industry Expo, have attracted the attention of fastener professionals worldwide since its opening! The actual effect and influence of its organization have reached a new level, and it has begun to embark on a new journey of serving enterprises, becoming the "wind vane" and "barometer" of the fastener industry!

On May 24, 2025, the 2025 Shanghai International Fastener Industry Expo came to a successful conclusion at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. The number of domestic professional visitors, overseas professional visitors, and visitors from different countries and regions all reached a historic high!
